They make it sound like going to college is immoral! Don't they realize how insane they sound to normal people?

How the WT Study is Used by the Governing Body
by AllTimeJeff innow that i have been out of the borg for a while, it has occurred to me that one of the biggest weapons they use to keep everyone indoctrinated is the watchtower study.. elders are told that the wt study is the primary way that the faithful and discreet slave feeds the flock of god today.
it is easily the most formulatic.. consider, the content is 100% controlled.
(i would also add, made up fiction.

It was always the hardest meeting for me when I started. The repetition alone was mind numbing. and It is not fair they get to make up both the questions and the answers too. And no one is able to even ask an honest question about the material. I always loved it when a new person would have the innocence to ask a question not listed. The conductor would start to squirm immediately.

Makes you want to spit!
by Gill ini aught not to laugh about this.....but it's one of those situations where you either laugh or cry!.
we found out that my husband's sister was df'd a few months ago.
we attempted to contact her but she will not speak to us and is still shunning us as apparantly we are 'spiritually weak' and she is attempting to be reinstated into the congregation.

A good friend of mine was Dfd for a year. I made sure to always be there for her and told her I would be. She never stopped talking to me and we are still great friends now after her being reinstated. She actually thought she deserved the shunning though. It was kinda like a mock form of humility. Like those that beat themselves with whips. I tried to get her to question why, if she was repentant, was she being dfd? She just could not see through it.
Keep letting her know you are there if she changes her mind. These people are so emotionally twisted by the society, you sometimes have to overlook their insanity.

I have a close relative with bi-polar. He has been on and off of multiple meds over the years. Right now he is off and doing better. It is sometimes hard to tell whether people are better because the disease is better or the meds are helping. As with most diseases, it is a very individual thing.
The meds are by no means harmless, they do have some serious side effects. The disease itself can also have devastating effects on a person's life, if not controlled. Everyone must work it out for themselves. I wish they would do more testing of "natural substances" so people could make a more informed choice.
There are a lot of people who are eager to make a buck off of the suffering of others. They do tend to prey on people with incurable diseases. I know because I have wasted a lot of money looking for a miracle cure. I wish Crumpet and all those with bi-polar the best and I am sure that the info shared was with good intentions.

UZBEKISTAN: Entire JW denomination to be banned?

I agree it is not good to ban the religion. I posted late last night without thinking clearly. It will only help the jws in the lomg run. I was just thinking how they claimed that the people of one European country (can't think of the name) could choose for themselves about blood transfusions and it was all a lie really.
So even if they gain status, the people can be misinformed about the real teachings of this cult.

Maybe if the US wasn't building military bases in the countries that used to be part of the USSR and building the missile shield in Europe, they might not be so paranoid.
I remember that Bush said he and Putin are the best of friends and he trusts him implicitly. With friends like that, who needs enemies?
